Mrs. Ida Weisner
Principal, Jonesville Elementary School
A little about me:
I am from a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My dad was a steel worker and my mom was a house wife. I have 2 older brothers and they still live in the same hometown as the rest of my family. I was the first member of my family to attend college. I moved to NC shortly after graduating college and accepted a teaching position in Yadkin County. I taught 4th grade at Courtney Elementary for 10 years before being named the Assistant Principal at Forbush Middle School. I was at FMS for 6 years and I am excited to now be a part of Jonesville Elementary. I am married to my wonderful husband, Jeff. He is a teacher and coach at Forbush HIgh School. We have 2 children, Nick and Jensyn. Nick is 17 years old and attends Forbush High School. Jensyn is my spunky, rules are made to be broken, 9 year old. As a family, we LOVE to attend and play in sporting events, go to Hilton Head Island, support theater and the Yadkin Arts Council, and just have fun!
As your principal, I will hold high expectations. I believe that ALL students can be successful and at JES all staff will do everything to ensure success. I became an educator to have a positive impact on our future. Creating opportunities for kids has been and will continue to be my top priority. I take this responsibility seriously and hope that through building strong relationships with students, faculty, parents, and the community, JES students will be prepared to be successful lifelong learners. The following is a quote from my recent 6th grade promotion speech. I hope that all Jonesville Elementary students can follow this....
"Remember that you don’t have to follow the crowd… Do the right thing, even if no one is looking. Study hard and remember that you're investing in yourself with every test you take and every book you read. And finally, don't be in too big of a hurry to grow up. These are some great times in your life. Don't rush past them. Each of you will be successful if you don’t ever stop believing in yourself and remember that we, your Jonesville School Family, will always be here to encourage, love and support you."
